Ordering Information
NVIS PolyVision ring filters are polished inside and out by default for maximum transmission.
L-54040-xxx-xxx The first five numbers designate the filter color and wall thickness per the Color Table (L-54040 = NVIS Green A, 0.040 [1.0mm] Wall
L-54040-240-xxx The middle number call out the diameter (L-54040-240-xxx = Ø0.240 [6.1mm] Monolithic)
L-54040-240-160 – The last three numbers designate the overall length per the Size Table (160= 0.160 [4.1mm])
Example Figure 1: L-54040-240-160 is a Monolithic NVIS Green A ring filter , Ø 0.240 [6.1mm] x 0.160 [4.1mm]
Example Figure 2: L-54040-240-160-D is a Monolithic Dome NVIS Green A ring filter , Ø 0.240 [6.1mm] x 0.160 [4.1mm]
Example Figure 3: L-54040-240-160-HS is a NVIS Green A ring filter with Heat Sink , Ø 0.240 [6.1mm] x 0.160 [4.1mm]
Application Notes
- Polished finish inside and out by default for maximum transmission.
- All filtered lamp assemblies have reduced life compared to the rated life of unfiltered lamps.
- High temperature operating environments can accelerate abbreviated life.
- Lower wattage lamps are recommended in applications when there is close proximity of lamp to inside filter wall or high temperature operating environments (0.5 watts or lower).
- Because operating environments vary widely suitability for specific applications must be determined by user.
PolyVision optical filters are subject to the following thermal constraints:
1. Intermittent Use Temperature: 190C
2. Extended Use Temperature: 120C
Acrylic optical filters are subject to the following thermal constraints:
1. Intermittent Use Temperature: 93C
2. Extended Use Temperature: 82C
